Sandra Barbadoro Children's Sponsorship Programme was set in memory of a Canadian young lady who came to Uganda from Canada to do voluntary work with a In Need Home. Her main objective was to help the needy children living in the slums of Namuwongo most of them being war victims from Northern Uganda where Lords Resistance Army rebel war has spent over 20 years. These children are fed and educated by In Need Home using meagre resources that are mobilised from well wishers.

This is the time the thief called DEATH stole her life in an accident while on her way to the Home. She was knocked down by a hit and run car on 01/08/2007 and then rushed to a hospital in Kampala Uganda where she remained in comma and passed away on 08/08/2007.THERE WAS NO SECOND CHANCE TO SAY BYE-BYE TO HER PARENTS NOR HER FRIENDS.
May Her Soul Rest In Peace.
It is in her memory and recognition of her selfless services that the childrens program was named after her.
Sandra Barbadoro Children's Sponsorship Programme is an early Childhood Development Programme that involves teaching of non school going children how to read and write. The children are not able to go to school due to poverty caused by the war, HIV/AIDS, or orphaned.

The women’s programme involves displaced women who are mostly widows and displaced from the Northern region, who lost their husbands to war and HIV/AIDS and have no source of income. These women are vulnerable widows and single mothers with children to feed, clothe, shelter and educate. Their major economic activities are hawking perishable foodstuff like bananas, groundnuts and vegetables and therefore earn meagre amounts of money that can hardly meet their daily needs.
